Amy Stinnett White seeking re-election to Botetourt County Board of Supervisors
Primary is set for June 17
Incumbent Amy Stinnett White is seeking the Republican nomination to represent Buchanan District on the Botetourt County Board of Supervisors for a four-year term.
"Amy Stinnett White has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to conservative principles and the defense of private property rights,” said Dominic Arzon, chairman of the Private Property Rights PAC.
“We find Amy to be a strong conservative who will support strong private property rights. Her leadership will help ensure that local landowners retain the freedom to control their property, free from unnecessary government interference.”
The primary election will be held on June 17. White is running in the GOP primary against Linda Rottman.
In a February 2025 Fincastle Herald piece announcing her candidacy, White revealed that she was raised on her family's multigenerational farm in Arcadia, where she currently helps to run the livestock operation.
After graduating from James River High School, she received a BS from James Madison University and an MS in microbiology and immunology from VCU. She has taught for almost 20 years at Virginia Western Community College, where she serves as Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and Workforce Solutions.
In the article, White highlighted that during her five years on the Botetourt County Board of Supervisors, "the county has attracted new industrial development and facilitated expansion of existing manufacturers, leading to the creation of over 500 jobs and over $80 million in capital investment," and she emphasized her support for agriculture, public safety, and schools.
The board acts as the county's legislative body. Responsibilities include enacting laws, establishing policies, approving budgets, and appointing citizens to various boards, commissions, and committees.
The board comprises five Supervisors who are elected to staggered four-year terms.
