Culpeper Board of Supervisors candidate Durr’s re-election endorsed by property rights group
David Durr, an incumbent Culpeper County Board of Supervisors candidate for the Cedar Mountain District, has been endorsed for election by the Private Property Rights Institute (PPRI), an advocacy group for economic rights for property owners.
“Private property rights is the foundation of our democracy and the cornerstone of a free economy,” PPRI spokesman Dom Arron said. “That’s why we are proud to endorse David Durr, who we believe shares these values.”
Durr, an Independent, is currently on the Culpeper County Board of Supervisors and has been for four years. He is running against Republican Mandy Jenkins Brown, a Realtor.
Durr’s campaign focuses on putting Culpeper residents first and preserving agricultural land, history and way of life. He also stands for protecting taxpayers through responsible and transparent budgeting and ensuring local voices are protected in every decision.
Durr has a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Mount St. Mary’s University. His work includes Culpeper Farmers’ Cooperative Inc., Agway Inc., and substitute teaching. In addition to his time with the Board of Supervisors, his other experience includes work with the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce, the Lions Club, the Masonic Lodge and other organizations.
The Cedar Mountain District is a magisterial district within Culpeper County. The county is divided into seven such districts, and each district elects one supervisor to represent its constituents on the board.
The election is November 11, but early in-person voting started September 19. You can also request a mail-in ballot up until October 24. More information can be found here.
PPRI is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to defending the fundamental right to private property ownership, a cornerstone of personal freedom and economic prosperity.
