Gloucester County Board of Supervisors candidate Leming’s election endorsed by property rights group
Joseph A. Leming, a Gloucester County Board of Supervisors candidate for the Petsworth District, has been endorsed for re-election by the Private Property Rights Institute (PPRI), an advocacy group for economic rights for property owners.
“Private property rights is the foundation of our democracy and the cornerstone of a free economy,” PPRI spokesman Dom Arzon said. “That’s why we are proud to endorse Joseph A. Leming, who we believe shares these values.”
Leming, a Republican, is running against Independent Angelo Andriulli. Leming has previously been on the Prince George Board of Supervisors and is endorsed by Incumbent Ken Gibson, an Independent who isn’t seeking re-election.
Leming is a family medicine doctor at Courthouse Family Medicine as well as Signature MD and has been practicing medicine since 1984. He is a past president of the Virginia Board of Medicine and the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians. He also was chief of staff at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg.
Leming says he wants to make Gloucester County the best place to live, learn, work and raise a family by advancing the interests of the entire county through balanced, thoughtful growth and economic development while representing the interests of his largely rural district.
In his campaign, Leming stands for law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services, education, parks and recreation, essential government services and capital needs balanced against the weight of tax levies.
The election is November 11, but early in-person voting starts September 19. You can also request a mail-in ballot up until October 24. More information can be found here.
The Petsworth District is a magisterial district within Gloucester County. The county is divided into four such districts, and each district elects one supervisor to represent its constituents on the board. There also are three at-large supervisors.
PPRI is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to defending the fundamental right to private property ownership, a cornerstone of personal freedom and economic prosperity.
