Gregory Crist seeks re-election to Bedford Township Board of Supervisors
Incumbent also is vice-chairman of Municipal Authority
Incumbent Bedford Township Supervisor Gregory Crist is seeking the Republican nomination for re-election to his seat for a six-year term.
He will face Terry Eshmann in the GOP primary on May 20.
In addition to his role as a supervisor, Crist is also vice-chairman of the Bedford Township Municipal Authority.
“Crist has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to conservative principles and the defense of private property rights,” said Dominic Arzon, chairman of the Private Property Rights PAC. “We find Greg to be a strong conservative who will support strong private property rights. His leadership will help ensure that local landowners retain the freedom to control their property, free from unnecessary government interference.”
In February, The Tribune-Democrat reported that Enbridge, a Canadian energy company, was constructing a solar panel array along route 220 in Bedford Township. The project would cover an area of 41 acres of privately owned farmland, and the solar energy generated would be used to power Enbridge's Texas Eastern Transmission natural gas facility.
According to the article, Crist noted that Bedford Township residents did not appear to take issue with the project, and existing ordinances should allay any concerns: "Most of the people don’t say too much about the solar panels. They are most concerned about noise or the panels lighting stuff up, but we’ve got ordinances in place to take care of that.”
Crist also remarked on other area businesses that have been able to reduce their electricity costs by installing solar panels.
