Muns runs for Ga. PSC against backdrop of domestic violence
He faces incumbent Tim Echols in June 17 primary

Lee Muns is seeking a seat on the Georgia Public Service Commission in the face of a past allegation of domestic violence.
Muns is running to unseat District 2 incumbent Tim Echols. The winner of the June 17 primary will go on to face Democrat Alicia Johnson in the November election.
According to the Augusta Press, Muns has been known to be combative and has displayed anger issues in the past.
The article states that in 2008 Muns was accused of domestic violence by his then-wife, and the incident was witnessed by Kim Muns’ employee, who dialed 911, according to a police report. In that incident, Muns was cited for disorderly conduct but not arrested.
In another incident, which took place in 2021 at the Republican State Conference in Jekyll Island, Muns allegedly assaulted a fellow conference attendee who had asked him to lower his voice.
As the Augusta Press reported, "According to the police report filed, the other conventioneer, Sidney Curry, told police Muns approached his table, slammed his shoulder to the table preventing him from moving and 'spoke to him in a threatening manner.'"
Fellow attendee Dewey Galeas, a former Columbia County Commissioner, who was interviewed by police after witnessing the incident, said that “[Muns] did his usual thing and ended up assaulting an octogenarian.”
Curry did not press charges.
Muns paints himself as a devoted husband with a commitment to serving his community and state on his campaign website.
"A devoted husband, father of five, and grandfather to ten, Lee’s life has been marked by hard work, resilience, and a deep commitment to serving his community and state," the site states.
Wow. Something happened nearly 20 years ago where he was not convicted of anything and he raised his voice to someone at a meeting. The political machine is pathetic.
