Perkinson brings business, banking experience to Iroquois County Board
She seeks re-election to District 2 seat in March 17 primary
Since she was appointed to the Iroquois County Board in 2024, Kathleen Perkinson has used her years of business experience to benefit the county and its residents.
Perkinson, a Republican, is seeking re-election to the County Board’s District 2 seat in the March 17 primary. She is being challenged by Chris Pheifer.
Perkinson is a member of several of the county board’s key committees, such as Finance/I.T./Tax, Management Services, Negotiations, Policy & Procedure and Planning & Zoning.
A resident of the rural Onarga-Thawville area, Perkinson was appointed to the board following the January 2024 death of Barb Offill after being recommended for the job by the Republican Central Precinct Committee. She was elected to finish out the term in November 2024, and now she seeks re-election.
Perkinson brings some of her professional experience back home to serve Iroquois County.
She’s a graduate of the University of Illinois, and she worked in land use development in Texas and California before returning to Iroquois County. She’s employed in the banking industry in Onarga, and she also is a member of the Board of Directors at Iroquois Memorial Hospital.
Perkinson is a daughter-in-law to the late Russell Perkinson, a hog producer who was a longtime member of the Iroquois County Zoning Board of Appeals.
