Rockbridge Board of Supervisors candidate Brown’s election endorsed by property rights group
Boyd Brown, a Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors candidate for the Kerrs Creek District, has been endorsed for election by the Private Property Rights Institute (PPRI), an advocacy group for economic rights for property owners.
“Private property rights is the foundation of our democracy and the cornerstone of a free economy,” PPRI spokesman Dom Arron said. “That’s why we are proud to endorse Boyd Brown, who we believe shares these values.”
Brown, an Independent, is running against fellow Independent Steven Hart, a farmer and retired Army engineer.
Brown stands for higher paying jobs, affordable housing and quality childcare. He promises to take no supervisor salary, to listen closely to the voters, and do what is best for the community.
He is a retired U.S. Army Infantry Officer with multiple combat deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans. He has spent eight years on the county’s Economic Development Authority and is the current chairman.
The Kerrs Creek District is a magisterial district within Rockbridge County. The county is divided into five such districts, and each district elects one supervisor to represent its constituents on the board.
The election is November 11, but early in-person voting started September 19. You can also request a mail-in ballot up until October 24. More information can be found here.
PPRI is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to defending the fundamental right to private property ownership, a cornerstone of personal freedom and economic prosperity. Its mission is to protect landowners from government overreach, burdensome regulations, and zoning restrictions that threaten their ability to control their property.
