Smyth County Board of Supervisors candidate Call’s re-election endorsed by property rights group
Roscoe Call, a Smyth County Board of Supervisors candidate for the Saltville District, has been endorsed for re-election by the Private Property Rights Institute (PPRI), an advocacy group for economic rights for property owners.
“Private property rights is the foundation of our democracy and the cornerstone of a free economy,” PPRI spokesman Dom Arzon said. “That’s why we are proud to endorse Roscoe Call, who we believe shares these values.”
Call, an Independent, has served on the board for 16 years. He is running against Democrat John E.B. Clark Jr., who is town manager of Chilhowie.
Call was first elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2009. He is also the Brine Pond Manager at Texas Brine. As a member of the Board of Supervisors, Call approves the county budget, sets tax rates and hires the county administrator.
The election is November 11, but early in-person voting starts September 19. You can also request a mail-in ballot up until October 24. More information can be found here.
The Saltville District is a magisterial district within Smyth County. The county is divided into seven such districts, and each district elects one supervisor to represent its constituents on the board.
PPRI is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to defending the fundamental right to private property ownership, a cornerstone of personal freedom and economic prosperity. Its mission is to protect landowners from government overreach, burdensome regulations, and zoning restrictions that threaten their ability to control their property.
